For nearly 60 years Halifax Fan has been designing its own range of industrial centrifugal fans. Today with factories in UK, China and the USA, Halifax Fan can advise, design, manufacture and service industrial centrifugal fans – from simple combustion fans to complex high temperature hazardous gas handling applications – wherever the customers are in the world.
Industrial fans need to cope with extreme levels of humidity and temperature. To do this Halifax apply high performance protective coatings. Using the latest high performance protective coatings requires specific coating film thicknesses at the application stage. Halifax Fan’s spray equipment operators attend training courses as part of their continual professional development. John Elliott, Head of projects at Halifax Fan, contacted Mick Warren from Spraytrain.com to provide the training.
Spraytrain.com are independent training providers for the spray equipment operator. The courses provided for Halifax Fan included airspray and air assisted airless spray applications, tailored to suit the application equipment and coatings at Halifax Fan. The courses were part theory with electronic assessment and hands on practical. The training took place at Halifax Fan’s Yorkshire factory and was completed in two days. The training demonstrates the correct way to use spray equipment with an emphasis on safety, efficiency and control of coating film thickness. Spraytrain.com have been providing training courses for almost 20 years. John Elliott commented: – “The course ensured all operators could control film thicknesses to comply with specification. We are also seeing paint savings that makes the training a fast return on our training investment”.
